TURMION KÄTILÖT have released Resodance, their twelfth studio album, through Nuclear Blast Records. The Finnish industrial metal band pairs its electronic-driven sound with a twelve-track concept built around an ongoing cycle, with a new video for ‘Näe Minut’ accompanying the release.
Mikko Tegelman produced the record alongside the band. Nuclear Blast’s announcement describes an approach intended to capture the intensity of TURMION KÄTILÖT’s live performances while giving the songs a connected conceptual framework. Melody, tension and heavy industrial rhythms form the musical basis of that sequence.
Vocalist and co-founder MC Raaka Pee explains: “Resodance completes a circle while continuing an endless cycle, much like the Ouroboros – the eternal serpent devouring its own tail. Every song represents an hour, every note its own colour and character. Across twelve tracks unfolds a continuous dance of resonance, where every moment finds its own distinct tone.”
That description places the individual tracks within a continuous whole, with each song assigned its own hour and character. ‘Näe Minut’, the release’s new focus track, occupies the sixth position in the running order. Its official music video was released to coincide with the album’s arrival.
The complete sequence is ‘Nostajat’, ‘Kunnioita’, ‘Pöytäviinaa Ja Pimeitä Naisia’, ‘Amon-Ra’, ‘Hallelujah!’, ‘Näe Minut’, ‘Lunastakaa’, ‘Karma’, ‘Levolle Laske’, ‘Teloitus’, ‘Raivotarjonta’ and ‘In Our Dreams (to be continued 1)’.
Physical editions include a jewelcase CD and two single-LP variants: red and black marbled vinyl, and transparent red and black marbled vinyl. Both vinyl editions are supplied in sleeves.
The announced TURMION KÄTILÖT lineup consists of vocalists MC Raaka Pee and Shag-U, bassist Master Bates, keyboardist Run-Q, drummer DQ and guitarist Bobby Undertaker. The band photograph supplied with the announcement is credited to Marc Sabat.
