SIFYN – New Single Lexicon Confronts Unwelcome Truths Ahead of Self-Encrypted EP

SIFYN have released Lexicon, the latest single from their five-song Self-Encrypted EP, due December 4, exploring difficult revelations and personal agency.

Concealed motives and the limits of personal control shape SIFYN's new single, Lexicon, released October 22, 2026. The Minneapolis pop-metalcore band pair heavy guitars with pop-minded melodies on the latest offering from Self-Encrypted, their forthcoming five-song EP due December 4.

According to the announcement supplied by Cupid Theory, the song addresses the anger of having to make sense of someone else's choices. Its themes move through unwelcome revelations and the impulse to withdraw or retaliate, returning to the recognition that a person can ultimately control only their own actions. Musically, the release brings together metalcore weight, alternative-rock textures, atmosphere and emo vulnerability.

For founding member and frontman Lukas Magyar, the track also marked the beginning of the EP's writing process. He explains: “Lexicon was the first song written for this EP. We were stoked because it felt like we were off to a really good start with this one.”

“It's always a good feeling to be very sure of the first song or two that you write for a body of work. Nobody wants to be second guessing themselves, so having something you're proud of early has always been a good way to build momentum.”

Lexicon joins Sew Me Up and Code in introducing the EP. The announcement describes SIFYN's approach as combining heavy rhythms and a danceable pulse with electronics and layered vocals, drawing on modern alternative rock, metalcore and early-2000s emo.

The personal focus extends across Self-Encrypted. The supplied biography contrasts its direct treatment of lived experience with the fictional characters that often carried aspects of Magyar's life on the band's 2022 debut, Marionette. The new material addresses loved ones in crisis, identity, ideology, dreams, reality and personal agency.

Founded by Magyar, SIFYN developed from a studio project into a five-piece band. Their lineup comprises Magyar on vocals, Mike Green and Dustin Korth on guitars, bassist and co-writer Derek Sampson, and drummer Avery Frisk. The project became a place for Magyar to pursue broader melodic ideas and songwriting beyond fixed genre boundaries.

The announced running order for Self-Encrypted is Code, Sovereign, Sew Me Up, Invoker and Lexicon. Preorders are available through the band's website. The Lukas Magyar press photograph accompanying the announcement is credited to Laura Baker.
