Chicago-based experimental duo Madam Orange will release their debut album, Parallax, through Amalgam on October 23, 2026.
The project brings together Emily Rach Beisel on bass clarinet, electronics and vocals with Bill Harris on drums and electronics. Their music moves between heavy improvisation, rhythmic interplay, electronics, feedback and spacious textural passages.
The eleven-track Parallax was recorded across two Chicago sessions: several tracks were captured live at the Hungry Brain, while the remaining material was recorded at Marmalade. Bill Harris recorded the album, Beisel and Harris created the cover art and mixed the record, and Edward Hamel handled mastering.
The album will be released on CD and digitally. Madam Orange will also play a hometown release show at Empty Bottle in Chicago on October 18 with Trashdotcom and Imelda Marcos.
