Eyes of Agony have signed with Awakening Records, with the label set to release the Italian band’s debut album, When They Return, internationally later this year.
The group is described as a studio-based death metal quintet from Italy. Its lineup brings together guitarist Danny Cinicolo, vocalist Andrea Zanetti, drummer Davide Billia, guitarist Massimo Boffa, and bassist Fabrizio “Jesus” Biondi. Members of the project are also known for work in bands including Excidium, Maleficarum, Beheaded, Hour Of Penance, Mind Control, Halley, Mechanical God Creation, Art Of Silence, and Iconoclast.
When They Return will feature nine tracks. According to the announcement, the album was mixed and mastered by Luca Nicolucci at Comet Broadcasting Studio.
Cinicolo said the material began taking shape years ago, during a long gap in his personal songwriting, before he completed the songs and assembled the lineup around Zanetti to record the debut. He called the signing “a deal to be a part of Awakening Records.”
Further release details have not yet been announced. Awakening Records said the album’s release date, cover artwork, tracklisting, and first song will be revealed later.
