Capital Punishment Festival will return to Ottawa, Ontario for its third edition on November 27–29, 2026.
Presented by Chord Productions, the event is scheduled to take over multiple venues in Ottawa’s ByWard Market for three days. Ottawa Tourism is again listed in a supporting role.
According to the announcement, the festival is centered on Canada’s underground heavy-music community, with a format that brings together national acts and local artists across several downtown spaces. Organizers also said the 2026 edition will expand its footprint in the ByWard Market with additional venues and artists.
Past editions featured bands including Blackguard, First Fragment, Lutharo, Spectral Wound, Martyr and Dopethrone, giving some indication of the kind of heavy lineups the festival has hosted so far.
Alongside confirming the 2026 dates, Chord Productions said it is currently seeking business partners and collaborators for the weekend. The call is aimed at operators of stores, restaurants, shops, venues, galleries and community spaces, as well as others with ideas suited to the festival.
Band submissions have not opened yet, but organizers said applications for Canadian heavy acts will begin in the coming weeks.
