Seven years separate Glorious Impurity from Caustic Maelstrom, the second full-length from Mexican death metal band IN OBSCURITY REVEALED. The new album is streaming in full through Death Metal Promotion on YouTube, with its international release announced for October 9 via Personal Records.
The eight-track record continues the band's established death metal direction. The announcement presents it as a deeper exploration of the same hostile musical territory, identifying early Morbid Angel, Necrovore and Incantation as foundational influences. Its description emphasizes a dark atmosphere, physical weight and a production balance between clarity and crushing density.
“There is no interest in trends, expansion, or stylistic mutation,” the press release states. That description frames Caustic Maelstrom as a continuation of the band's approach rather than a stylistic departure: the stated intention is to push further into the sound developed across their earlier releases.
IN OBSCURITY REVEALED formed in Mexico City in 2014. Early releases through Caverna Abismal Records preceded an ongoing collaboration with Blood Harvest Records, which yielded the Grim Fumes of Revelation EP, debut album Glorious Impurity and a split album with Infesticide.
That recording history supplies the background to the seven-year interval between full-lengths. While the new album arrives through Personal Records, the announcement places it within the same death metal focus that has defined the band's previous work.
