Old Man’s Will have unveiled “Do You Really?”, the latest single from At Last, their third full-length album. The song is streaming at New Noise Magazine ahead of the record’s October 9 release through Small Stone Recordings.
Guitarist, keyboard player and backing vocalist Klas Holmgren describes the track as a love song built around a relaxed blues-rock groove, with a bittersweet character. His account emphasizes the exchange between riff-driven guitars and expressive vocals, moving from rougher moments into more melodic passages.
The Umeå group began in 2011 when Holmgren, drummer Gustav Kejving and bassist Tommy Nilsson continued making music after leaving home for college. Vocalist Benny Åberg completed that early formation. European touring and record deals followed, but a delayed second album, cancelled tours and the pandemic interrupted the band’s progress.
At Last emerged after drummer Simon Lundin and bassist Michael Åberg joined with the intention of recording a third album. According to the announcement, the band had gradually moved toward a more stripped-back sound, and live shows — including an opening appearance for Graveyard — helped renew its momentum.
We hear about the new direction through the band’s own description: guitar riffs remain central, while melodies, dynamics and the individual shape of each song receive more space. The release presents the album as a mix of heavier sections, bluesier grooves and melodic passages rather than a complete break from its roots.
Recording took place at Studio Spiff, Mullberget, Skellefteå, and Ultraljud Studios. Anthon Johansson engineered the sessions, with Sven Dahlquist credited for amplification. Frans Hägglund mixed the record at Riddarborgen Studios, and Magnus Lindberg mastered it at The Vilhelm Room.
At Last will be available on CD and digitally, with an LP edition in conjunction with Germany’s Kozmik Artifactz. The announced vinyl includes a 180g white-and-blue splatter edition limited to 200 copies. “Meet Me At Sundown” is the preceding single.
