THE ASTRAL PROPHETS will release their debut full-length, Invasion, on October 30, 2026. The Calgary, Alberta band puts its heavier roots at the center of an album combining science-fiction storytelling, layered symphonic textures and a blend of power and groove metal. The announcement also highlights ‘Power of the Rift,’ a single from the forthcoming record.
In the announcement supplied by Asher Media Relations, the album's musical direction is described through an emphasis on riffs, melodic leads and driving drums. Those elements accompany a thematic range that extends beyond the band's dystopian setting.
“Invasion is a roller coaster of an album… themes of anger, retribution, causality, and madness, but also love and longing, conveyed with sci-fi and cosmic overtones,” the band says.
That setting has been part of THE ASTRAL PROPHETS' broader concept. “The concept and theme of the band are designed around the idea of a not-so-distant, roboto-cratic dystopian future. Space, aliens, techno-organic viruses, the works!” the band explains. Alongside ‘Power of the Rift,’ the supplied announcement lists lyric videos for ‘Invasion’ and ‘Into Nothing.’
THE ASTRAL PROPHETS formed in 2019 through former Scythia members AJ Bergin, Terry Savage and Celine Derval. The project grew from a desire to pursue a heavier, rawer sound than their folk-metal origins. Early singles included ‘Firewall,’ ‘USB Humanity’ and ‘Lazerwitch,’ followed by the Anywhere But Here EP in 2023.
The announcement identifies the 2026 lineup as Staci Stardust on vocals, AJ Bergin and Harley D’Orazio on guitars, Terry Savage on bass and Kyle Summers on drums. Invasion marks the band's move from those earlier singles and EP into its first full-length release.
