EXTINCTION A.D. – Bring Halloween to Their Monthly Singles Series with ‘Feed My Frankenstein’

EXTINCTION A.D. turn a longtime cover-song joke into a Halloween release with their take on Alice Cooper’s ‘Feed My Frankenstein,’ available now with an official lyric video.

EXTINCTION A.D. have added a Halloween cover to their monthly singles project, releasing their version of Alice Cooper’s ‘Feed My Frankenstein.’ The digital single and accompanying official lyric video are available now, with singer and guitarist Rick Jimenez describing the track as a chance to have some lighthearted fun alongside the band’s more serious material.

In the announcement supplied by Secret Service Publicity, Jimenez explains that the song had repeatedly surfaced during conversations about possible covers. The band members also share a love of Wayne’s World, in which Cooper’s song appears. When their plan to release one single a month took shape, they wanted October’s contribution to be a cover in the spirit of Halloween and chose a song they had spent years joking about playing.

“Anytime we’ve done that, ‘Feed My Frankenstein’ would come up half as a gag,” Jimenez says of those cover discussions. “We all grew up with and love the movie Wayne’s World that this song appears in and the placement of it in that movie is rad.”

The approach combined heavier guitars and Jimenez’s own vocal interpretation with keyboards that remained faithful to the original. “Adding a bit of our flavor to this song with the heaviness of the guitars and my spin vocally, while adding the keyboards in a faithful way was absolutely ridiculous and super fun,” he explains. “So much of what we do musically is deadly serious so it was enjoyable to do something purely lighthearted.”

The announcement places EXTINCTION A.D.’s monthly release approach in its ninth month, with ‘Feed My Frankenstein’ joining eight other songs: ‘Escape From L.I.,’ ‘They Live, They Die,’ ‘Center Of Zero,’ ‘Truth and Consequences,’ ‘Thaw,’ ‘Dead Men Running,’ ‘Blood Hoax’ and ‘Insomnia.’ ‘Truth and Consequences’ features INCENDIARY’s Brian Audley.

Formed on Long Island, New York, out of THIS IS HELL, EXTINCTION A.D. have been active since 2013. Their crossover sound combines ’80s thrash, ’90s extreme metal and New York hardcore, with socially charged lyrics forming part of their musical identity. Earlier releases appeared through Good Fight and Unique Leader; the Halloween cover offers a different lyrical focus within that broader background.

EXTINCTION A.D.’s lineup comprises Rick Jimenez on vocals and guitar, Ian Cimaglia on lead guitar and vocals, Tom Wood on bass and Mike Sciulara on drums.
